Passage 13

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

How does that union come about? I told you the other day. If you put the coal in one place and the fire in another, no fire comes of it. You must take the coal close to the fire. Once you have taken it close, God's Prema rises up in him. That very Prema is the wind. So when the two, near and dear, come together, the knower of Brahman becomes Brahman itself. The two become one. No sādhanas are needed. If you have just this one thing, Prema full and pure, it is enough. There is no use in doing these worldly sādhanas. We do all these sādhanas to get through a worldly, natural life, only to make our time worthwhile; but when one is the very form of Time, where does making time worthwhile come in? Time is God. Don't waste time. Time waste is life waste. Be happy. Always make time worthwhile. This itself is the great sādhana. Our ancient culture of Bhārata has taught the inner meaning of festivals of this kind. But this culture needs, above all, the saṃskāra that befits it. This culture is one thing. Saṃskāra is another. For these two to become one, we must develop the right heart. Our heart is not very small. It is very big. Your heart is vast. As vast as the ocean is, so vast is your heart. Make your heart broad. Do not be a narrow mind. Expansion love is life. Contraction love is death. You must not live narrowly. You must live with a broad Prema. Where is that broad heart to be gained? It is gained from God alone. Through His Prema, God can give anything. There is nothing with Him that He will not give. He can give everything. When God gives His very Self, what is there left that He cannot give? He gives everything. If you ask, He gives. If you knock, He opens. But you do not ask. You do not knock at the door. You do not speak the Name. Call on the Name without fail. ‘O God! O God!’ Call Him like that. But today man is calling. Whom is he calling? He is calling the ghosts. He is calling the fiends. He is knocking at doors. He is knocking at the gates of hell. Not at the gates of heaven. The very waning of moha is Mokṣa. That itself is Mokṣa for us. Mokṣa is not some special place. Mokṣa is nothing but lessening our moha little by little.
