‘All right, all of you go. By the time you have all got down from the buses and are ready for the photo there, I shall come,’ I said. Half an hour after they had all gone, I was going from Nandanavanam to Doddabetta. Two young men, poor fellows, had gone to Nandanavanam meaning to see Swami. But they said there, ‘Swami is not here in Nandanavanam; He has gone to Doddabetta.’ Those two boys came on a motorcycle without once slowing down; wanting to see Swami, to see Him, they were coming fast like this. Who are these boys coming behind like this? At that thought some in the car spoke up: ‘Some rowdy boys,’ they said. ‘No, no, you must not speak like that without knowing. They are coming for Swami's darśan,’ I said. As we reached a turning, they came up beside My car, and in their eagerness to see Me they came racing close. As they came close, the motorcycle fell over. Both the boys fell off the motorcycle. At once I stopped the car, went over to them and wiped off all the dust that was on them. ‘My dear ones! Are you hurt anywhere? Why did you come so fast? You must not come like this; if you want to see Me, you can come to Nandanavanam,’ I said, and told them all the advice they needed, and calmed them; then I peeled two oranges that were in My car, gave them to them and said, ‘Quench your thirst.’ Then those two college boys were saying: ‘Swami! We came wanting Your darśan. Truly, only because this mishap happened, only because we fell off the motorcycle, we received not only darśan, not only conversation, not only touch, but prasāda too. Truly, if we had not fallen down, who is there in the world who would leave His car, come to us, stroke our heads, stroke our backs all over and ask so lovingly, “Where are you hurt? What is it?” So, Swami! We longed for Your darśan; we came with śraddhā. Darśan, touch and conversation, all three, have come to us. So, to receive these three, whatever kinds of hardship You give us, it is only happiness; grant them to us,’ they said; this is just what Kuntī asked for.
