In plain words

Not Only Bhajans Together but Service Together Too

For whom is it done? For the people alone, for the world alone. We are doing it for our own peace. For whom do we cook in the house? We do it so that we may eat. So today, whatever service you do, you must forget the feeling, ‘We are doing it for someone,’ and grow the feeling of the one Ātma: ‘We ourselves are doing it for ourselves.’ When you grow this feeling of the one Ātma, then alone does equality arise, as it is said, “Ekaṃ sat viprāḥ bahudā vadanti.” For this there need be no permission from Swami. All that they have hoped for, I keep blessing, saying, ‘So be it, so be it.’

(All the devotees sang in one voice the bhajan Swami sang, responding to Him. Then Swami, continuing His divine message...)

Embodiments of Prema! Just as all of you sang in one voice the song Swami sang, as Swami directed and as Swami willed, in the same way I hope that in service too all of you will be of one heart and take part in it. Not only bhajans together; we must do service together too. Only then will joy come to us. That itself is the true bhajan. I hope that all of you will join together as one, joyfully, with the feeling of the one Ātma, trust in God as one, go on doing your work, and do right service to society.
