Sacrificing their own lives, setting society right, the Vedas, Śāstras, Itihāsas and Purāṇas the ṛṣis who taught so pleasingly; leaders who could rule the whole wide earth as sovereigns and lead it on: there are many such in the land of Bhārata today. What use is their being? Not even one of them to the cry of distress heard day after day thinks to lend an ear, O noble ones!

Students! Arise, awake, and see that you do not give up your resolve until you reach the goal. What is needed today is not material comfort and riches. You must stand as great warriors on the battlefield of life, show a sacred courage, and stand as ideal heroes.
Students Must Take the Vow to Develop the Welfare of Society and a Sacred Humanness
Students! Enquire for once into the kind of ideal the ancient ṛṣis set out in the field of education. It was Dharma that they crowned.
