In plain words
Help ever, hurt never; that is very sweet to Me
The seventh question: ‘Swami! Among the sādhanas we do that belong to the world, what kind of sādhana is pleasing to Swami?’ was the question.
‘Swami must be satisfied. The sādhana we do must satisfy Swami. By doing what kind of sādhana is Swami satisfied? I will do that,’ he said.
There is only one answer to this. I need nothing. Believe all men to be embodiments of God. Believe in the divinity in all. I have great Prema for that. That pleases Me very much. Whatever you feel gives you Ānanda when it is done, do that to others. Whatever you like, do that same thing you like to others. But if you are happy and do harm to others, that is not good sādhana. I keep saying it again and again. Help ever– hurt never: that is very sweet to Me. Keep giving help to whoever it may be. Do not hurt anyone. Do not cause harm. More than this, do not nurse any evil feelings towards others. Even if they abuse you, even if one is your enemy, love them. That itself is Swami's chief aim. So many people are in the world. Not all of them worship Swami. One time they worship, another time they abuse. I do not look at either of these. I go on loving all. Each one's Prema is his own. Each one's illness is his own. Each one's disease is his own. Each one's karma is his own. What they have done, they themselves will undergo; it does not come as far as Me. If not today, then some day, what they have done will not miss them.
Who can say what turn will come on what day? Undergoing it is certain, brother; one as great as Rāma, parted from His lovely Sītā, wept like a common man, brother; the Pāṇḍavas of old, eating leaves and roots, were cast out into the forest, brother; who can say what turn will come on what day? Undergoing it is certain, brother.
