Passage 1

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Man is pure, awakened and stainless. But because he has sunk into the sleep called delusion, he is seeing the dream called saṃsāra. If he leaves the sleep of delusion, he will know that what is called saṃsāra is a dream. You are not the body, a heap of blood, flesh and bones. You are not the futile mind of desires that never come clear. Nor are you the bewilderment of delusion, which is a bond that bars Mukti. You are the eternal Paramātma Himself, able to know your own power.

Embodiments of Prema! The young of today are themselves the future leaders of Bhārata and the builders of a new society. The future of the country rests on the young alone, its leaders to come. Devotion to the country is the very strength of the young. Service to society is the very duty of the young. Young women and young men! This is not the time for you to sleep. Wake from the sleep of selfishness and narrowness, and pledge yourselves to the service of the country. Push narrow feelings far away; cultivate broad ones. Recognise for what purpose God has given you a human birth. Every living being has a goal. Do not forget that goal and waste your time on mere delusions that concern the body. Recognise that service to society is your true duty, and that the welfare of the country is the welfare of your own body. Foster your character. Live not merely for food, but for Dharma. Even cattle, birds and beasts follow their own Dharma, but man alone is forgetting his. Students today think that the studies they pursue are only for the sake of a job. This is a great mistake. A job without yoga is no use at all. Thinking of God is the true yoga and the true job. That is man's foremost duty. It is not right to forget such yoga and grow proud of the job you hold. Ahaṅkāra is the very worm at the root of the tree of life. Attachment and hatred are the helpers of Ahaṅkāra. These three join together and uproot humanness.

Whoever believes in God, whoever loves God, their life glows with Ānanda and laughs out merrily.
