In plain words
The heart is what is filled with compassion. So the heart itself is the form of God. You must not confine your Prema to your own self-interest alone; you must share it with everyone. Not merely with your fellow human beings: you must share it with cattle, birds, beasts and all creatures too. All must live in unity. The whole universe must become one family. Then there will be no hatreds, angers or quarrels at all. It is because man today has no broad heart that, wherever you look in the world, quarrels and turmoil are dancing the dance of destruction. In whomever you look, you see the Contraction of Love, but you do not see the Expansion of Love. Narrow hearts are man's own making. What God created is the broad heart. It has no limit of this much or that much. Because man keeps that limitless principle of the Ātma within limits, he falls into many troubles and losses.
God Alone Is the True Guru
Today is Guru Pūrṇimā. Who is a guru? “Gukāro guṇātītaḥ rukāro rūpa varjitaḥ”: the one beyond the guṇas, the one without form, is God alone! And not only that. “Gukāro andhakārasyāt rukāra stannirodhakaḥ”: the guru is he who destroys the darkness of ignorance. What drives away darkness is light. In the word ‘Bhagavān’, ‘Bha’ means light. So God alone is the true guru. He who shines wherever you look is God alone! He who is everywhere is God alone! So you must not hate anyone. Today some people in the world, nursing hatred with narrow feelings, are taking the lives of their fellow men. What a sin! By acting this way, they become people who have plotted harm against God Himself. The joy one gets by hating and tormenting another is the joy of a demon. Whoever hates, his hatred harms himself alone. Whomever you hate, whomever you torment, tomorrow someone else will come along who hates you and torments you. So make everyone happy. Only then will you have true joy. To torment and to kill is no greatness. Even an insect can do harm. Greatness lies only in saving life.
