In plain words
Embodiments of Prema! Whoever believes, ‘The Ātma in oneself and the Ātma in others are one’, be he a householder, a man of attachments or a man free of them, God dwells in him. He himself is transformed into God. Unable to grasp the principle of God, many people keep criticising. But those who have understood are fortunate. God abides equally in Satya and in Asatya, in Dharma and in Adharma, in merit and in sin. To recognise this sacred oneness, the ancient ṛṣis strove in many ways. They carried out so many enquiries. At last they went on proclaiming to the world, “Vedāhametaṃ puruṣaṃ mahāntaṃ ādityavarṇaṃ tamasaḥ parastāt” (we have seen God, shining beyond the darkness called ignorance with the surpassing radiance of ten million suns).
We can come to understand the divinity in humanness through the experiences of nature. Though they do not show God directly, they prove the existence of divinity. A little while ago you watched the lion dance. Those are not real lions. But through them it becomes possible to recognise what real lions are like. In the same way, every object and every experience in this world makes divinity known. The sweetness in sugarcane, the heat in chilli, the sourness in tamarind, the bitterness in neem: all these are signs that make known the existence of divinity! The sun is shining. The moon is giving its coolness. The stars are glowing. The waves are moving. All these are proofs of the principle of God! Though they do not show God, they prove the principle of God.
Creation, Sustenance and Dissolution Are in God's Hands
This whole world is filled with three kinds of action, called creation, sustenance and dissolution. No one, not one scientist, can say that this truth is not so. In the world we see it every day. What has been created is sustained; what has been sustained is dissolved. This is proof before our very eyes. When we enquire carefully into these three kinds of action, divinity becomes visible to us. In worldly affairs there is a minister for education; there is a minister for revenue; there is a minister for the police. But all of them are under the Prime Minister. In the same way, though actions are carried out under different names, Brahmā as the lord of creation, Viṣṇu as the lord of protection and Śiva as the lord of chastisement, the lord of all three is God alone. The Muslims called Him ‘Allah’. The Christians called Him GOD. G - Generation. O - Organisation. D - Destruction. So creation, sustenance and dissolution are held together in the very word GOD. Taking worldly evidence of this kind, we can prove the existence of divinity. Whether anyone says it or not, Satya is Satya! God is. Where is He? He is in all; He exists as the form of all. The divinity in humanness is ever visible to all. Today so many lakhs of people have come here out of Prema for Swami. This very Prema is the chief sign of divinity. So many are holding their Prema fixed on Swami. There is no Ānanda greater than this.
