Passage 7

In plain words

I always want the good of all. When the work we do is good and our feelings are good, there is no need to fear for money; it comes walking to us of its own accord. Embodiments of Prema! Today we have put you to a great deal of trouble. For the last three or four hours you have sat here with great patience. You are very tired. But for bearing so much trouble to take part in this gathering, there is one thing you must learn. What is it? Grow the spirit of sacrifice in yourselves, use your wealth in work that helps others, and help the poor. Give food to the hungry. Today some rich men are slaves to evil habits and waste a great deal of money. Food, wealth, energy and time: all these are forms of God. They must not be wasted. Instead of wasting time in needless talk, take part in work that helps others. Help everyone as far as your strength allows. That is what I ask.

Today there is not enough time to tell you everything in detail. Our Vajpayee took the trouble to come here. The country greatly needs leaders like this, who give good works the zeal and encouragement they need. If the country is to be raised up, good feelings must arise in its leaders. They must grow in love for God. They must win God's grace. There is no task in this world that cannot be achieved by God's power. Embodiments of Prema! Come here again after some days, see for yourselves the service this hospital gives in a spirit of sacrifice, and rejoice. Here you can receive a joy found nowhere else. The poor, glowing with health and happiness, will be laughing merrily. We must guard the health of the poor. We must see the happiness of the poor. That is the right way for our life. “Helping others brings merit; tormenting others brings sin.” So I hope that you will be blessed with the good fortune of seeing the happiness of the poor, and I bless you.
