In plain words
Yet some, out of envy, have taken to spreading evil reports. The tongue has no bone; it can talk in any way it likes. But tell the one who talks so to come and give the poor a little food to fill their stomachs, and let us see.
This hospital will rise to a great position in time to come
Everyone is praising this hospital for its beauty. What use is it merely to be beautiful? It must bring health and happiness to all. Only when the poor are happy do we have joy. The poor have no money to buy medicine. So we ourselves will give them all the medicine they need, free. Do not underestimate this hospital. You do not know very much about this hospital now. In time to come it will rise to a great position. People of many countries will come here to be treated. Such is the divine power in this hospital.
Earlier, when the super speciality hospital was built in Puttaparthi, some people underestimated it. But today not a single heart patient is to be seen in the villages around Puttaparthi. Even a small boy comes smiling, without the least fear, to have a heart operation in that hospital. In the same way, here in the state of Karnataka too, no one must be left with heart disease. The village people who suffer from disease must be brought and given the treatment they need. Bring anyone at all. We have no objection whatever. Everyone has an equal right to be treated in this hospital. People of any caste, any religion, any country can come and be treated in this hospital. We make no distinction of any kind. We give treatment free to all. We will give free medical care even if we must run into debt. We will not hold back in the least for want of money; our chief aim is to cure disease and save lives. You too follow this example. ‘Lokās samastāḥ sukhino bhavantu’: all must be happy. That is my desire. For that I will do anything; I will offer even my life. What use is a person who does not seek the welfare of the people?
