In plain words
Embodiments of Prema! As long as man has ego and ostentation, no one loves him; not even the wife he married or the children he fathered love him. They act as if they love him, but that is not true love. The reason? The ego and ostentation within him keep blocking love. As long as there is anger, man cannot escape sorrow. As anger grows, sorrow too increases. To be far from sorrow and enjoy Śānti, you must root out anger. As long as man has desires, wealth and plenty will not even look his way. The more you cut down the ‘luggage’ called desires, the more comfortably the journey of life goes on. In the same way, as long as there is greed, man has no Śānti. The very day he roots out greed, he can enjoy Śānti and good fortune.
The prosperity of the nation depends on man's actions. Man's actions depend on the mind. The good and bad of the mind depend on its resolves. Only when man nourishes true resolves will the world prosper. So the man who wishes for the welfare and the prosperity of the world must shape his resolves and his actions rightly. Today the new year has begun. Its name is “Viśu”. But many such new years have passed. Man hopes that the new year will bring him happiness and prosperity. But man's joys and sorrows do not depend on the years; they depend on his actions. Only when the actions are good will the result be good. But man performs actions without enquiring into good and bad. Doing bad deeds is easy, but their results stand in his way like mountains.
