In plain words
You can fill a glass with sea water, or a water pot, or a tank. The water in the glass, the water in the pot and the water in the tank differ in ‘quantity’, but the ‘quality’ of saltiness is the same in all three. In the same way, the ‘consciousness’ called divinity, which pervades everywhere, is present in the vessel called the body as ‘conscience’. So ‘consciousness’ and ‘conscience’ are both one. This world came into being from Caitanya itself. What fills this whole world is Caitanya alone. “Sarvaṃ khalv idaṃ brahma.” Nowhere is there a thing to be seen that is not Brahman. All of you are nothing but the cosmic form of the universe. You are seeing God and yet you think you have not seen Him. This is the great weakness. Hold your own body to be a temple. Would anyone defile a temple? So, without misusing the body, lead it on a sacred path. This body has many doors. Of these, the mouth, the ears and the eyes are very important. Through them you must let in only what is sacred.
Do not speak evil; speak only good. Do not hear evil; hear only good. Do not see evil; see only good. Do not think evil; think only good. Do not do evil; do only good. This is the royal road to divinity!
Only when you put the five senses to sacred use does the temple called the body have the protection it needs. So that the senses may be put to good use, the culture of Bhārata teaches nine paths of Bhakti: “listening, singing, remembering Viṣṇu, serving His feet, salutation, worship, servanthood, friendship, offering of the self.” You must worship God along these nine paths. Along with that, you must do actions that help others. The body has come into being only to help others, not for self-interest. Self-interest makes you commit many sinful acts.
