Passage 7

In plain words

You came to this conference not merely to put down your attendance. What you have seen and experienced here, you must go out and spread. If you are heroes at giving speeches on the platform and zeroes in practice, what is the use? You must be heroes in practice too. Here you have experienced great joy. The joy you have experienced you must share with everyone. You must cut down your words and increase your work. TALK LESS, WORK MORE. For ten days I have not been speaking much with anyone. What is the reason? I am telling all the children to cut down their talk. “Swami tells us to talk less, and He Himself talks a great deal!” some may think. So I too am speaking little. Not for my own sake, but only to teach you. In measured speech there is measureless Ānanda. Our Ānanda does not come from outside; it comes from within us. What is reflected outside is the very Ānanda that is within us.

To your eyes some appear good and some bad. But in truth there is no one who is bad. If the person before you is bad... it means your own badness is being reflected in him. If you understand this truth, you will not think anyone bad. All that you see in the world is only the “reflection, reaction, resound” of your inner feeling. So you must be good to everyone and love everyone. In no situation whatever must you forget your svabhāva.

The vision of the Ātma comes only when attachment to the body is given up

Embodiments of Prema! In this conference many elders have taught you many things, each drawing on their own experience. I have been listening all the while. You must put into practice what they taught, and try to teach it to others as well. What I say is just one thing. Since you are born as human beings, you must put Māyā far from you. You must see the Ātma and attain Nirvāṇa. Where is the Ātma? It is your own true form.
