In plain words
What is the use of such studies? All these are nothing but studies pursued to fill a span-long belly. Study pursued for a living is no study. It does not nourish divinity in you; it does not give you joy. You must pursue the study that belongs to the heart.
The human body is like a flute
Embodiments of Prema! Today, wherever you look in the world, perverse, destructive and monstrous deeds are seen. Wherever you look: abusing one another, beating one another, killing one another! Where has the humanness in man gone? Where have compassion and kindness, Prema and sacrifice gone? Wherever they have gone, they cannot be seen with the eye. You have been born in this world as human beings. So live as human beings. Nourish humanness, and experience joy. Share the joy you experience with fellow human beings. Only when you nourish sacred feelings will you become true human beings. You can call one who has no compassion nothing but a demon. A demon has no compassion. Since you are born as human beings, there must be compassion in you. You must make Prema grow.
With this very thing in mind, the Gopīs prayed to Kṛṣṇa in this way; “Kṛṣṇa! Our hearts are deserts empty of Prema. In these deserts empty of Prema... so that the shoots of Prema may grow... with the fervour of Prema... so that a rain of the nectar of Prema may pour... so that rivers of Prema may flow... will You not play the flute!... Kṛṣṇa! Will You not make music!” Here the flute does not mean a musical instrument made of bamboo. Your body itself, with its nine openings, is like a flute. Sweet notes must come from it; discordant notes and false tones must not come. Listening to Kṛṣṇa's sweet flute music, Rādhā became absorbed in it. Who is this Rādhā? She is not an ordinary woman. ‘Dhara’ (Prakṛti) itself became Rādhā. Prakṛti itself is a woman. She herself is Rādhā. Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa, Sītā and Rāma, Pārvatī and Parameśvara... in this way we place the Paramātma only after Prakṛti. That is, we must pray first to Prakṛti.
