In plain words
First of all you must root out Ahaṅkāra and develop humility and obedience. Embodiments of Prema! Above all, today you must recognise the principle of the Caitanya Jyoti. Caitanya is in all. There, here, wherever you look, what exists is the one Caitanya. This all-pervading Caitanya is what they called ‘Consciousness’. The Caitanya in our body they called ‘Conscience’. How wonderful it is that the Caitanya that is everywhere moves in man's body as the Ātma! Everything is in man himself. There is nothing greater than man. That is why they said, “Daivaṃ mānuṣa rūpeṇa.” If you ask how God is, He is in human form. Where? Right here! Wherever you look, there is only the One. But looking at the form, you give room to misunderstandings. What is the reason? Yours too is a form. But you do not believe in your own form. All forms are forms of God. The five elements in this body are in your bodies as well. There is no sixth element at all. The five elements, the five prāṇas, the five kośas: all these are held in one form.
The five kośas
Man eats food and sustains his body. So the body was called the annamaya kośa. The second is the prāṇamaya kośa, and the next the manomaya kośa. “Mano mūlam idaṃ jagat”: Manas itself turns into the form of the world. So the manomaya kośa is very important. But the sādhakas and yogīs of today travel only as far as the manomaya. There their journey comes to a halt. It should not be so. However much the mind suffers, you must go forward without heeding it. If we cross the manomaya kośa, we enter the vijñānamaya kośa. It is because he does not cross it that man stays in the annamaya, in Ajñāna. Crossing the manomaya kośa is the hard part. Cross it, and Vijñāna comes very easily. Once we gain this Vijñāna, then all is Ānanda! That itself is eternal Ānanda, that itself is supreme Ānanda, that itself is the Ānanda of yoga, that itself is the Ānanda of Advaita. Yet you must not neglect the body.
