In plain words

Jesus' message to mankind

All the fishermen kept making many worldly requests of Jesus. Peter asked that he might get plenty of fish. But later: “Chee! This is not what I ought to ask for. As Jesus teaches, I must recognise the principle that is beyond body and mind,” he thought. Jesus told everyone that same thing. “People! Why this hatred among yourselves? Fill yourselves with compassion. Love all, serve all. Believe in the unity within the many,” he taught. His disciples went on writing Jesus' message down as it seemed to them. When Jesus was crucified, a voice without a body was heard: All are one, my dear son, be alike to everyone. As his mother Mary grieved, he said: Death is the dress of life. Death is nothing but changing the dress called the body. When this ‘dress’ changes, another ‘dress’ comes. Man does not stay in the one dress for all time, does he! Each day he keeps changing his dresses. In the same way, many births keep changing. For that alone, we must not call it death. Death concerns the body alone. The jīva principle remains eternal for all time. That itself is immortality. That very principle has been described as “the Ānanda of Brahman, the giver of the highest happiness ...”.

Among the disciples of Jesus was a tax collector called Matthew. He used to go to the fishermen to collect tax. Hearing Jesus give many teachings to those fishermen day after day, Matthew wrote them all down and shaped the Bible. Nowhere did Jesus speak of himself as God or as a guru. He used to say, God is my Father. His nature was very pure. He went on teaching the path fit for experiencing unity. He gave no room at all to diversity. He said that divinity is in all.

Only when the delusion of the body is let go is immortality won

Bodies differ, but the Ātma principle in all is one. So give up the delusion of the body.
