Passage 12

In plain words

Before he went back, I called the warden: “He came and taught the children the lion dance. The children are happy. Should we not make him happy too? What would be good to do?” I asked. He said nothing. Then I: “Silly fellow! We must show fitting gratitude for the help we have received. Coming and going costs him forty thousand. So give him fifty thousand rupees at once and send him off,” I said. In this way I send those who come away content. Whatever hardship or loss comes from what you do, I bear it all. Swami Himself looks after the concerns of every child, of every trainer. “Swami is somewhere far off; how will Swami know?” you think. Here, there, wherever you look, there is only the One. But you cannot recognise this truth.

Where there is ‘unity’, there is ‘divinity’

Everyone worked very hard to make this sports meet a success. The teachers too took great pains. Not only the young: the elderly Rādhāsvāmi and Rāmamūrti too helped the children a great deal. Even after retirement they are working in our college. Everyone toiled as far as each one's strength allowed. Where there is ‘unity’, there is ‘divinity’. If ‘divinity’ alone is there, everything falls into place. Everyone worked hard and won a great victory. The root of this success is not any one person; everyone has a share in it. You will not find another institute like our Institute. Here everyone lives in great harmony and accord, with the feeling of Prema. The root cause of all this is Swami's principle of Prema. I will not hold back from spending any number of crores for the children. Whatever is needed, I am ready to give. The children must do well and give the country an ideal. This is what I want.

The girls of the Anantapur campus too worked very hard. Truly, those who live in Puttaparthi have the great good fortune. For every day, morning and evening, they can enjoy the blessing of Swami's darśana, sparśana and sambhāṣaṇa.
