In plain words

Embodiments of Prema! Man makes many efforts to recognise his own perfection. To protect his culture, his purity and his wealth of character, man has to take part in many sacred undertakings. The chief quality a human being must have is Prema. But man, losing Prema and falling prey to demonic tendencies such as ostentation, envy and hatred, is misusing his life. “The honour of a nation rests on morality. Where there is no morality, the nation goes to ruin.” If man is to live as a man, he must light in his heart the lamp called morality. It is morality that brings man health and happiness. For man to be human, the body made of the five elements is not the only thing that counts. Manas and the Ātma are there too, each distinct. What we call humanness is made of three parts: Manas, Buddhi and saṃskāra. All three are parts of the Ātma. It is with this in view that the Bhagavad Gītā said, “A part of Me, eternal, has become the jīva in the world of the living.” Manas is a part of the Ātma. Do not think that Manas is merely a bundle of desires. Seen with a worldly eye, it may be called a bundle of desires. But seen with the eye of the Ātma, it is a bundle of divinity.
