In plain words
Embodiments of Prema! So long as there is Ahaṅkāra in a man, not even his wife and children love him. Ahaṅkāra brings a man down to his fall. The day he kills his Ahaṅkāra, the whole world loves him. So long as there is anger in a man, sorrow is bound to follow him. The day he puts anger far away from him, everyone respects him. Greed lays a man open to many troubles. Ahaṅkāra, anger and greed: these are what turn a man into a demon. When he roots out these vices, a man not only experiences joy himself but can give joy to all.
Embodiments of Prema! In this world you must know that which, once known, makes you one who has known everything. If you forget that one thing, there is no use in knowing anything else. Zeros set after a one gain in value. Take away that one, and all the zeros beside it lose their value. Attachment to the Ātma may be compared to the one. Once you hold on to attachment to the Ātma, however many other attachments you may grow, they gain in value. However many pleasures and riches we may enjoy in the world, if there is no attachment to the Ātma, all of them come to nothing.
True service is what is done in the feeling that it is offered to God
The Veda declared, “All this is pervaded by Īśvara.” Who is Īśvara? The consciousness that moves in all living beings: that itself is Īśvara. Only when we remember the name of Īśvara without ceasing do we have the chance to cross over. In Bhārata there are crores of devotees who remember the Name and do service.
