In plain words

Students! If you are not full of Prema, what are you living for? It is for Prema that you are living. You are pursuing these studies in order to attain Prema. What is in everything is Prema alone.

As I drank in the joy of all of you, I came to a state in which I could not even get up. In all of this, Prema is what matters most. Nothing else in the world is found greater than this Prema. In this tender age, pure, steady and selfless, you must make this sacred life worthwhile through Prema. But as age grows, this Prema travels into many fields. It leaves the straight path and travels on a crooked one. So, in this tender age itself, you must learn the way to make this Prema grow well and, with no twists and turns of any kind, to merge with joy in the Paramātma. That is true Bhakti. What is Bhakti? Bhakti is simply the reflection of Prema. Without Prema there can be no Bhakti. Bhakti, śakti, yukti, rakti, virakti, anurakti, Mukti: this Prema brings them all. Without Prema there is no Mukti at all. Without Prema there is no rakti at all. Without this Prema, virakti never comes. Without this Prema we can achieve nothing. It is by Prema alone that we are able to achieve everything.

First of all, before everything else, comes a mother’s Prema. Win your mother’s Prema. It is the mother, the divine one, who bore you, brought you up and raised you, and who stood by you as your companion and your shade in growth of every kind. Never forget such a mother; make your Prema for your mother grow at all times. Through that Prema for your mother you can gain the divine Prema of God as well. God too is the divine mother. The body has one mother. For the whole land, the one mother is God alone. So you must remember God, who holds the feeling that the Ātma is one. That feeling that the Ātma is one belongs to God alone. You think that in the world there are many kinds of love. All these loves are in vain. None of them is what makes anything worthwhile. True Prema is not the path of pravṛtti. It is the path of nivṛtti. In the world there are mother, father, younger brother, wife, all of them. But all these loves enter into pravṛtti. Pravṛtti means worldly activity. Between one body and another body, it seems to be wife and husband. Between one body and another, it seems to be mother and child. Between one body and another, we go on thinking of elder brother and younger brother. But God Himself is everything to all. Whatever field you go into, whatever state you live in, you must worship divinity with the principle of Prema alone. With the principle of Prema you must adore Him. With the principle of Prema you must show it forth. Since nothing is greater than Prema, what you must make grow is the principle of Prema.

Though students are each different, you must love one another. Without going into wrongs or misdeeds against one another, you must keep caring for one another. You must stand by students who are in difficulties, in losses, in sorrows.
