In plain words
Within a single month a small hospital was ready.
Doctors must be embodiments of sacrifice
The first to work there was Doctor Brahmam. He was a very great devotee. True to his name, he was Brahman itself! After him came a doctor named Bikkini Sitaramayya. He too was a great devotee. His three brothers were all ministers. “Swami! Hand over to me the charge of running this hospital. I will look after it,” he said. From that day until he breathed his last, he stayed in that very hospital and served. Doctors with such dedication are very rare today. Many doctors today work with nothing but earning money as their goal; for money they are ready to give up even their lives. The noble feeling of relieving the sufferings of others does not arise in them. They do not come forward to go to the villages and serve. They hope that if they stay in the town they can earn plenty of money and enjoy many comforts. “For the sake of a rupee, they will eat any old grass on the sly!” For money they are ready even to eat Grass. How can Grace come to such people? Doctors must be embodiments of sacrifice. What I want is not your Bhakti. You must recognise the sufferings of the people and look for a way to relieve them; you must work for the welfare of society. Doctors earn all the money they want. But do they do work worth what they earn? They want only the money; they are not ready to do the work. Doctors with the spirit of service are vitally needed today. When those who are not servants become leaders, nothing is gained. When the servant himself is the leader, he can do society great good.
Make your parents happy
Students! Your parents earn money with great toil, and with it they have your clothes stitched and they keep you, hoping that you will live in society with honour.
