In plain words
The mind itself creates Māyā
Some people follow any number of gurus, elders and sādhakas, just as they please. This is not the right way. You must set one single feeling firmly in your heart. Once your faith is formed, it must not change. Once you fix your mind on God, it must stay there for ever. You must not follow the mind at all. The mind itself creates Māyā in many ways. So you must forget the mind, break the mind, set the nature of Mādhava in your heart, and merge in divinity. That is nirvāṇa. The body is made of the five elements; it is a fabrication; it is transient. How can what we gain by following such a body be true? So you must root out the delusion of the body. You must give up attachment to the body and merge in attachment to the Ātma. That is true dhyāna. That is true sacrifice. That is true yoga. That is true enjoyment. That is Ānanda. Many today long for ‘liberation’. If you want ‘liberation’, you must forget the mind. Only the man who has forgotten the mind can attain nirvāṇa.
Embodiments of Prema! I think you have never attempted so great a sādhana. We shall see about this later. First of all, begin to think of God with Prema. Only then will you gain the strength you need. Give up selfishness. Only then will true Ānanda be yours. The Pāṇḍavas thought: First God; Next world; Last I. That is, they put God first. They gave the world the second place. They pushed self-interest to the last. We can say this very thing another way. Jesus first; Others next; Yourself last. Only when you think in this way will you have true JOY.
