In plain words
The police may cause Swami some trouble! Don't let them come near Swami,” she would say. “They too are devotees, aren't they! Everyone comes for Swami. You need not be afraid,” Subbamma would reassure her. Once the I.G.P., Ranganayakulu, came to take Me to Madras. Gṛham Ammāyi did nothing but weep! That was the first time I was going to Madras. In those days, to the people of Puttaparthi, Madras was a foreign land somewhere far away! “They are taking Swami off to some distant land, it seems,” she heard. “I will stand in the way; I will not let Swami go,” she resolved. “Swami! You must not go, You must not go,” she wept. Such was her Prema for Swami.
Swami's Promise to His Mother
One day a devotee named Sakamma: “Swami! It is very hard for us to come to this village and go back. Cars cannot come here. Even coming by bullock cart is very hard. So come away to Bangalore. We will build You a fine mansion there,” she said. “I have no need of fine mansions there. The little room here is enough,” I said. Even though I told her, she would not listen. Then Easwaramma: “Swami! If you make a basin round a plant right where it sprang up, put in manure and pour water and raise it, it grows into a great tree. To keep it in one place for a while, then pull it up and plant it somewhere else... If one keeps doing that, how can it ever thrive? So stay in the very village where You were born,” she asked. Then I gave her My word: I would not leave Puttaparthi. “I will stay right here and go out to the devotees and come back,” I told her. She herself was the reason this Mandiram came to be built here later.
We must wish for the well-being of all. For God Himself is in all. God is the form of all. In the Dvāpara Yuga, Kṛṣṇa demonstrated this great truth. I will tell you of one small piece of fun Kṛṣṇa had. When Kaṃsa was tormenting the people in many ways, Kṛṣṇa killed him.
