Passage 3

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

This Brahmā principle draws sound.

Only when we search into it is the supreme principle understood

They call Her Śabdabrahmamayī, Carācaramayī, Vāṅmayī. Durgā, Lakṣmī and Sarasvatī, these three, are nothing but the forms of the three. In every human being, while the breath moves, the sound “So'ham, So'ham” comes. Without it there can be no breath. In the same way, without the thought that is the mind, no word comes. So the oneness of these three, the “So'ham” that comes from our breath, the thought in the mind, and the word that came from the thought, is a bond that cannot be broken, a mutual dependence. We must make efforts to recognise such a principle. It is not something gained by sādhanas. It is not gained by inquiry. It is gained by searching into it. Only when we search into it does the supreme principle become clear to us. Man must try to recognise Satya grounded in proof, the eternal whose form is Satya, the equanimity given over to Ānanda, and the oneness of these three. Man today reads Upaniṣads in great number. What is the essence of the Upaniṣads? The essence of the Upaniṣads is to teach you your own true principle, to show the oneness that is in multiplicity. We nourish the body. For what purpose do we nourish it? What is the fruit gained by this nourishing? None at all. As long as there is a body, one must eat. As long as one eats, one must sleep. As long as one sleeps, one must have joy too. Then, after waking, where is this joy? So we must grasp this essence of the Upaniṣads. God has no names whatever. All names are His. He alone is in all names. Nowhere can we see anything that is not His, anything where He is not.

The heart is the Veda; thoughts are the Śrutis

Embodiments of Prema! Above all, God's principle is Prema itself. Today no one is trying to recognise this principle of Prema. In the body there are machines of many kinds. However many ways you research these machines, you cannot recognise its inner meaning.
