Purity and cleanliness are essential
Students! Along with inner purity, outer cleanliness too is most essential. You must keep your surroundings clean. Some people spit on the road. You must go up to such people and tell them, “You must not spit on the public road.” You must keep the clothes you wear and the handkerchiefs you use clean. You must bathe every day. You must keep your hands clean. Once a week you must cut your nails. Many of today's students do not cut their nails at all. So dirt collects in the nails, goes into the stomach when they eat, and makes them ill. The root cause of illness is uncleanliness, impurity! You must be pure, and the studies you pursue must be sacred too. Purity and cleanliness are both very necessary. Cleanliness is godliness. The spiritual principle itself brings purity. Having studied such learning, you must try to bring happiness to your fellow men. You must live with self-respect. In this modern age, along with the modern branches of learning you must also study the ancient ones.
Science and spirituality
Today science has advanced. But man's senses have sunk very low. Along with science, we must keep the ‘senses’ too at a high level. But man is dragging the senses down to ruin and developing science. Science too is needed! But, not using it in the right way, he is setting it on the wrong path. Science is like the English letter ‘C’. It begins at one place and stops at another. Between beginning and end there is a deep ‘valley’. Man is falling into that ‘valley’. Spirituality is complete and whole. It is like a circle.
