In plain words
“The children are My property”
Students! All this while you have stayed in the hostel and studied. Now go back, each to your own home town, and serve father and mother. While working at jobs, keep coming here now and then. Otherwise there is a danger you will forget all you learned here. Keep well in mind the things learned here, and put them into practice.
(At Swami's bidding Sri Raghupathi Rao, who works as a lecturer at the Brindavan campus, stood up.)
Ask that boy. He has no mother, no father. But when he first came here, his mother was living. ‘Stay in the Anantapur hostel and look after the children, mother!’ I said. Later she too died. Then I brought this boy here and had him educated. He studied with care, completed his MBA, and now works as a lecturer. We ourselves gave him the job. In this way I look after a great many. This is My duty. I am no outsider. I am yours, and you are Mine. Only because they are raised and cared for with such Prema are the children turning out so exemplary. He is a very good boy. He was not one to ask anyone for anything. “If you need anything, do not ask anyone. Ask Me, and I will give it,” I had said beforehand. Why am I telling you all this today? It is this: if such children come your way, you too look after them. Service to society is itself service to the Lord of all. The best way to love God is to love all and serve all. So love everyone and serve everyone. This is the very essence of education. “From learning comes humility; from humility arises worthiness; from worthiness, wealth; from wealth, Dharma; and through that a man attains happiness here and hereafter.” So lead life in humility. Root out Ahaṅkāra and serve society with self-confidence. Good children will lack nothing at all. I Myself will look after their whole future. When his studies were over I asked that boy, “My son! Would you like to go outside?” He said he did not want to go outside.
