In plain words
Hiraṇyakaśipu was able to reach not only the orb of the moon but the sun as well. Though he had such strength and ability, because he filled his heart with worldly feelings he became weak in every way. Every man is a person of great power, a great intellect. But one must not fill the heart with worldly feelings. When man turns his resolves into the noblest ones, he can bring the whole world into his grasp.
Make the mind your slave
The young women and young men of today are the leaders who will rule the whole world in the future. The country's prosperity rests on the conduct of its young women and young men. So young women and young men must first fill their hearts with good feelings and good thoughts. Such people can achieve any great task whatever. Man today achieves everything, but he makes not the least effort for the one thing which, once achieved, makes him one who has achieved all. The mighty power that is in man is seen in no other creature. That is the mind. One who has mastered the mind can achieve anything. ‘Manayeva manuṣyāṇāṃ kāraṇaṃ bandha mokṣayoḥ’: for bondage or for liberation, the mind alone is the root cause. But man cannot master his mind. That is why he is moving very far away from the Ānanda he should attain. One who has mastered his own mind can experience the highest Ānanda. So you must first of all bring the mind under control.
Students! Your games and songs gave everyone a great deal of joy, delight and enthusiasm. But you must not regard these games and songs as merely worldly, physical, material matters. You must believe that they are joined with moral, dharmic and spiritual principles. Only one who has attained moral, dharmic and spiritual strength is a true human being.
