In plain words
“Tirupati, Badrināth, Amarnāth, Kedārnāth and the other holy places are all only ‘branch office addresses’. My permanent address is the heart of the devotees,” he said.
From heart to heart… That is the principle of Prema
Embodiments of Prema! Wherever you go, whomever you meet, you must plant in them the sacred feelings you have learnt. Today you have held a ‘youth camp’. What for? The chief purpose of this ‘youth camp’ is to foster good qualities. You must become an exemplary ‘youth’. You must develop Prema. You do not understand what Prema is. Prema is equal to life itself for a human being. Prema itself is divinity. There is Prema in you, but you are spreading it over your kin and friends. This is not true Prema. The love between brothers, the love between sisters, the love of kin and friends…. All these are worldly loves, like clouds that come and go. But the Prema of God is true and eternal. Once it has come to you, it does not go back. You must develop that Prema. You must spread your Prema over the principle of the one Ātma. You must offer heart to heart. To foster such Prema, that is true Bhakti. You must develop it and spread and teach it in society. Only when you develop the sacred feeling of the one Ātma and a resolve like a diamond will you take shape as true human beings. The principle of Prema is not something gained through books. It must come Heart to heart, from the heart to the heart. Only when you develop such Prema will you be those who have set a divine ideal before the world. The injustices and wrongs happening in the world today are beyond telling in words. Whoever you look at, they are wasting away in unrest. The cause of this is bad qualities and bad conduct alone! So you must develop good qualities and become rich in good conduct. You must have faith in the principle of the Ātma present in everyone. But man today has no self-confidence at all.
