Passage 8

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

That is true Prema. If there is Prema of that kind, I will give you whatever you need. You must share Prema from the heart. For the sake of that Prema I will do whatever must be done. I will offer even this body.

Students! What does vidyā mean? It is not the worldly learning you acquire. Vidyā means Prema joined with light. The light of any number of lamps cannot equal it. So foster Prema, my dear ones! Only then will the learning you have pursued bear fruit. Offer that learning to God. You must offer the vidyā God has given back to God alone. What is His you must give to Him alone, and not to anyone else.

Give me your Prema; take my Prema

Embodiments of the divine Ātma! Prema comes first. Prema is life itself. Prema is the goal. Prema is our very birth. So we must share Prema alone. The Bhagavad Gītā too says this very thing. We cannot say that the fruit of Prema is this much or that much. It is infinite. Earn it. For having been here so long, this is what you must do! You have great Prema for me. Share that Prema with everyone. You are all embodiments of Prema! If you lose Prema, you lose life itself. Give me your Prema. Take my Prema. That is just what I want. I am ready for anything! This body is yours! I am not the body. I pay no heed to the body. Only one attached to the body has worldly love. You must foster a Prema free of attachment to the body. Only then can you experience lasting Ānanda. If you truly know the principle of Prema, you will not desire worldly things at all; your Prema will flow ceaselessly toward divinity.
