In plain words
To merge in God, singing comes first
The Vedas have gone on describing Divinity in so many ways. Many people have gone on reciting the Ṛg Veda, the Yajur Veda, the Sāma Veda and the Atharva Veda. But not a single one of them has had the vision of God. No one can attain God merely by reciting the Vedas. When you sound this same thing in song, you can experience God's Prema in full measure. That is why God has been called the One who delights in song, the Lover of song. So pray to God through song. But: “We cannot sing. Then what will become of us?” some may ask. Even if you have no knowledge of music, it does not matter. Take any tune you like and sing God's glory with Prema. There is no need to learn music specially. If you say “Rāma! Save me” in a verse, it does not sound so sweet. If you say it in plain words, too, it is not so sweet. But if you set that same prayer to a tune and sing “Rāma... save me..”, it is ever so sweet. Such is the sweetness there is in song.
So, if we want to attain God, it is possible only through song. If you offer your heart and sing, joining a tune to it, God will surely appear to you. Wherever you are, whatever bazaar you may be walking through, He will surely appear to you. Sing the Name of God in whatever way comes to you. This itself is the easy way to attain God. The Ānanda the devotees enjoyed in the Kṛṣṇa Avatāra, no one has enjoyed in any other Avatāra. So keep in mind the experience the Gopīs had in the Kṛṣṇa Avatāra, and you too sing in whatever way comes to you and make God glad. The Avatāra that gave darśan to so many in so many ways, cleared their doubts and merged them into Himself, the Avatāra that gladdened everyone with soft, sweet words, is the Kṛṣṇa Avatāra and no other!
Devotees never merged in any other Avatāra in the way they merged in the Kṛṣṇa Avatāra. In the Kṛṣṇa Avatāra alone did thousands upon thousands of devotees join God and become one with Him.
