Passage 10

In plain words

But man today keeps Ānanda shut away and brings out only his sorrow. That is not what we should be doing. When sorrow, hardship or unrest come, we must take no notice of them at all. We must bring Ānanda out and press sorrow down. This is the spiritual sādhana we must do today. God is always full of Ānanda, full of compassion, the wish-fulfilling tree of the lowly! If you think of Him like this, no pain will touch you at all.

Embodiments of Prema! This Sankrānti must bring a good change in the hearts of all of you. Spend your time in Ānanda, in delight and in zest. Keep thinking of what is good, always. You will always be full of Ānanda. Man is full of Ānanda. That is his right name. Only when man rids himself of the demonic and develops the divine can he experience Ānanda. If you truly enquire, where is there anything bad? It is you who think of bad things and make the bad grow in you. Ānanda is food for every one of us! You must be hungry all the time for the food that is Ānanda. That hunger is not satisfied by eating rice. Because you have lost Ānanda, long for Ānanda all the time. Make your faith in God firm. God’s Prema alone is steady. If you keep that one thing safe, every joy will be yours.
