In plain words
Students, embodiments of Prema!
All of you have come here and joined for the sake of education. You must first of all recognise what education is. Education is that which goes together with humility. Students today hope to gain great degrees. Yet very few students come and join our institution merely for the sake of degrees. To make Swami happy, to walk in keeping with Swami's ideals, and so to rise to a high station, to bring joy to their parents ... It is with good aims of this kind that students enter this institution. Education does not mean merely getting degrees.
Character is the very goal of education!
Though they have passed their M.A.s and B.A.s and come out, though they be great men of renown, though they have riches and are bountiful givers, though they be worthy souls who have won fame on earth, though they have long life and health without a break and be men of full strength, though they are forever doing japa in plenty and be brāhmaṇas who have learnt the Vedas, they will never, at any time, be the equal of the devotees; without worshipping God, abundant Bhakti does not come. What more than this shall I make known to you, O good members of this gathering, counted among the virtuous!
