Poem 239
యం.యేలు బియ్యేలు ప్యాసయి వచ్చియుపేరుగాంచిన పెద్దవారలైనసంపదలుండియు సద్దాన పరులయిపుడమి కీర్తి గనిన పుణ్యులైనఆయురారోగ్యంబు లనవరతమునుండిపరిపూర్ణ బలులగు వారలైనసతతంబు తపములు జపములు సేయుచువేదంబులను నేర్పు విప్రులైనసాటిరారు భక్తులకు నేనాటికైనదైవమును కొల్వనిదె రాదు భక్తిదైవ భక్తులు కానిదే రాదు ముక్తిఇంతకన్నను వేరెద్ది ఎరుకపరతుసాధుసద్గుణ గణ్యులౌ సభ్యులార!

Though they have passed as M.A.s and B.A.s and come out, though they be great men who have won a name, though they have wealth and are given to good charity, though they be men of merit who have won fame on earth, though they have long life and health without end and be men of perfect strength, though, ever doing tapas and japa, they be brahmins who teach the Vedas, they are never, at any time, the equals of the devotees. Without worshipping God, Bhakti does not come; without being devotees of God, Mukti does not come. What more than this shall I make known, O members of this assembly, counted among the good and the virtuous!
