Passage 2

In plain words

Only by the strength of her resolve does the son rise in life. When we live our lives resting on a mother's good resolve, troubles of every kind are removed and happiness and joy come to us. Whichever great soul's life we look into, it becomes clear that they could rise so high only through a mother's love. Rāmakṛṣṇa Paramahaṃsa, and Vivekānanda, his chief disciple, gained great spiritual power through nothing but the strength of a mother's blessing. A mother's purity of heart and a mother's strength of blessing are beyond compare. But man today is unable to understand rightly the nature of a mother's love. On the spiritual path, first place has been given to the mother. The Veda taught, ‘Treat the mother as God, the father as God, the teacher as God, the guest as God.’ Whether or not we worship any deity, the mother at least we must worship. Whomever we may honour or not honour, we must honour the mother. He alone who upholds the mother's honour is a true son. The life of a son who is not worthy of a mother's love is meaningless. Only when we honour the mother and keep the mother's love do we become true human beings. So each and every one must honour the mother, must love the mother, must give the mother a high place. Only such people can lead the nation.

The mother herself is God; God Himself is the mother

There is no God higher than the mother. Yet people forget the mother, wander here and there in search of God, and waste time. To see God they do japa, tapas, pilgrimages, vratas, pūjās and any number of such things. Instead of striving after a God the eye cannot see, we must worship and serve the mother, the God present before us whom the eye can see. Without being blessed with a mother's love, man cannot be worthy of God's Prema and God's grace. A mother's love is free of self-interest. It is a love that flows in the feeling within.
