In plain words

For Him who fills the whole cosmos, is it within one's power to set up a temple? For Him who moves in all living beings, is it possible to give a fitting name? For Him who moves in all the waters, is it possible to give a ritual bath? When the whole cosmos lies within His belly, is it fitting to set food and delicacies before Him? Beyond the reach even of Brahmā, Hara and the rest, who has the power to find this form of His! What more than this shall I make known, O members of this assembly, good souls counted among the virtuous!

This visible world, a thing of imagination, we call ‘prapañca’. The combined form of the five elements is itself ‘pra-pañca’. ‘Pra’ means to blossom, to make manifest. Prapañca is precisely what makes the five elements manifest. Not the five elements alone: prapañca makes the five prāṇas manifest too. The five elements are fire, water, earth, air and space. The five prāṇas are prāṇa, apāna, vyāna, udāna and samāna. The five elements and the five prāṇas are themselves the support of this world. The five elements themselves have been keeping humanity and the whole world safe.
