In plain words
This is not your first birth. After taking many births you have put on humanness. So cast off your old, rotten feelings. Lead your life with fresh and divine feelings. Humanness holds a very profound and hidden principle. Only God can explain such a principle. The Lord of the universe, as the very form of the Ātma, fills the whole universe. To recognise this principle of the Ātma, one thing alone is enough. What is it? Give up the feeling of ‘mine’ completely. If you let go of the worldly infatuation of ‘this is mine, that is mine’, you will take on a pure, steady and selfless form, be freed from worries, and attain Mokṣa.
Students! From humanness you must attain Mādhavatva. That itself is your goal. To attain Mādhavatva you must nourish a good mind. ‘Unity’ brings ‘purity’. ‘Purity’ brings ‘divinity’ to realisation. All of us are human beings; we are sisters and brothers. You must develop such ‘unity’. As you have studied in the Sathya Sai College, you must achieve oneness and stand as an ideal for society. Only when you achieve oneness will you earn the name of Sai devotees. Love God. That Prema itself drives hatred away. Through the principle of Prema you can achieve everything. So let your Prema grow.
(After singing the bhajan song ‘Premamudita manase kaho …’, Bhagavān continued His divine discourse and said:)
Embodiments of Prema! From time without beginning, the Name of Rāma has been guarding devotees and guiding them on the path of good. That the Name of Rāma has stayed lasting in people's hearts, age after age, is itself a wonder. From this you can understand the greatness of the Name of Rāma. Though so many thousands of years have gone by, the Name of Rāma still shines ever new. Whether of the villages, of the towns or of the hills, there is no one who does not think of the Name of Rāma.
