In plain words

In this way, teachers must develop resourcefulness and strength in the children. They must teach the children fine ideals. Only then will the children make progress and experience joy. Their joy itself is food for the world. If children have no joy, what use is there in having food? Human life is most lofty and sublime. As befits it, we must fill our hearts with pure feelings. You who are teachers, first make good habits your own, and then teach them to the children. If the teachers themselves smoke cigarettes, will the children, for their part, hold back? Only when teachers nurture good conduct and good habits in themselves can the children grow rich in good conduct and labour for the country's rise. However many hardships come, teachers must never draw back, and must bind themselves by a vow to shape the children into exemplary people. That is the very mark of a true teacher. Hoping that you will first put into practice the good you have learnt here, and then teach it to the children, and blessing you, I bring My talk to a close.
