In plain words
Now all the children have come here. All of you should come together and share good words with one another. Good thoughts, good words, good deeds: all these are the marks of God. You must cultivate them. When you walk towards the sun in the morning, your shadow falls behind you. In the same way, when you journey towards God, the shadow called ‘Māyā’ falls behind you.
A drinking-water project for Madras
Today people misuse science and try to change the laws of nature. To make a tree bear fruit, they give it an injection. Today even water has become polluted. Whatever fruit you look into, worms are to be seen. In the old days ‘figs’ used to be so good. Now worms have started in them too. The reason? Polluted water, nothing else! Polluted water is the root cause of all disease! So we must boil water well, make it clean and drink it. We spent two hundred crores and brought the water of the Kṛṣṇā to Madras. When I saw little children there falling into dirty pools, bathing and drinking that water, it pained me deeply. Then and there I said to myself, ‘Until I give them good water, I will not come to Madras.’ That is something I said ten years ago. Now I have given them good water. At a time when the children drink this good water and play in good health, I am going there again. Only when the water we drink and the food we eat are good can we enjoy good health. In this way you must look after your health. But some children are not eating properly. Do not look to ‘taste’; see whether a thing is good for your health or not. Then and only then will health and happiness be right in your home, at once, and at your side.
