In plain words
If you do not keep it within a limit, the body falls ill. You must be very careful in this matter. Those who do sādhana, those who long to see God and to speak with God, do as I have told you. You will surely see God and speak with God.
Bhakti means merely doing pūjās, doing vratas, doing japa … It is not this alone. Prema for God that does not waver and does not stray is itself true Bhakti. There is nothing that surpasses it. We may give up even the body, but we must not give up Prema. True Prema never wavers, never strays and never perishes. You must keep such Prema safe. Then divinity will surely be yours. But because you keep up an excessive tie with this world, demonic nature is growing today. Desire and anger, both, are man's worst enemies. You must always be full of Prema. You must keep smiling. But when you look at some people's faces, they look like a ‘castor-oil face’. You must always keep smiling. When you are smiling, Prema comes quite naturally.
No medicine surpasses Prema
God is always smiling. God has no worry or grief at all. Look at me: I am always smiling. I have no troubles of any kind. Through some mistake the children made, this leg was hurt. The hip bone had four cracks. The doctors came and said they must tie on all sorts of bandages. I did not agree. Even in that state I came walking, and gave darśan to everyone from up there. Now one leg is two inches shorter than the other. Ever so many doctors and specialists came from America and from who knows where else. Dr Pillai came from Singapore, and his son too. “Swami, give us five minutes,” they said.
