In plain words
A meat diet is precisely the cause of diseases like cancer. So give it up completely. That is not all. They are very fond of cheese. The more cheese you take, the weaker you become. You must not take too much milk either. We must keep within a limit. However much milk there is, we must pour that much water into it. Curd too is the same. If it is thick, people say, ‘Very good curd’. But it must not be thick. It must be somewhat watery. In this way we must control our food too. This is very necessary for prayer to God. If you keep to the right food and this discipline, you will have the vision of God at once. You need not do sādhana for months and years on end. You can be happy at every moment. Ānanda is God's very own form!
Worldly vāsanās must be reduced
You think, ‘I want Ānanda’. But where does Ānanda come from? Can it be bought at some shop? Or can you go to some hotel and eat it? No. Ānanda must come from you alone. Ānanda is your very nature. When you were born, you were indeed in Ānanda. But later the vāsanās of this world touched you, and you began to cry. You must reduce these worldly attachments. Less luggage, more comfort makes travel a pleasure. But you needlessly take on attachments that serve no purpose, make the body weak and sink into worry. This worry too is very bad. Hurry, worry, curry … By the time these three come together, the heart grows very weak. So keep this ‘hurry, worry, curry’ far away from you. If any trouble comes: ‘As it came, so it will go. I lose nothing’: think this. What has come will go some day. Bodies too are the same. So we must keep our tie with bodies only as far as it is needed.
