In plain words

Conducting themselves as an example, they must give the children fitting inspiration and courage. Children too must recognise their parents' wishes and act by them. They must not cause them the least trouble. Parents rear their children placing many hopes in them. However many hardships they have, they hide them in their minds and labour to make the children happy. In such circumstances, if children give the parents even the slightest pain, they sink under it. The feeling of gratitude, “Only through my parents' sacrifice have I come so far,” must stay safe in the children.

As it is said, Tell me your company, I shall tell you what you are: what kind of people you are is known by looking at your friends. So you must not mix with bad people at all. You must lead life along the path that makes parents happy. Even after you marry and enter family life, you must see that parents have no troubles of any kind. ‘It is enough if my family and I are well. What is it to me how my parents fare!’ Thinking so, you must not neglect them. That is what uneducated fools do. The educated must not act that way. When there is need, you must go to the parents, serve them, find out their wishes and try to make them happy. Making parents happy is the children's chief duty. You must look after your parents' needs with care. Those who do not look after them so, you must rebuke firmly and set on the right path. Today in the world, differences are flaring up between parents and children. The hopes of the parents are one thing; the tastes of the children are another. But if you keep looking only to your own tastes, what about your parents? You may certainly fulfil your desires while following your parents' wishes. If you cause parents grief and strive merely for your own satisfaction, it will be counted sheer selfishness.
