In plain words
You have to pay wages to the ayah and the cooks. Besides, many things in the house keep going missing. Then what is left for you? None of the men is giving this a thought. Sometimes, on coming home, there are not even cups to drink coffee from. In such a state, what is the use of your doing a job? You look to money, but you are not looking to your own convenience or to your children's future. If children are not studying well, that is not their fault; the fault lies with the parents themselves! So mothers must stay right at home and look after the children well. Their progress is the very ‘income’ you should seek. If you lose that ‘income’, spoil the children and toil merely for money, you become selfish parents. Later, if your children go to ruin, you will have to suffer greatly. So we must give the children an exemplary life.
Each one must follow human values of his own free will. If the elders behaved justly, everything in society would be in order. But today the elders are not behaving justly. The children are reaping the results of the wrongs they commit. First of all, we must take fitting steps to bring the children on and make them happy. We must not let children fall into the habit of sleeping till eight in the morning. We must wake them as early as five, at the break of dawn. But today even the parents do not get up at five. Because the parents lie in bed till 8, the children lie in bed till 9.
When running a school, we can set up a capital fund. We can take the help of the children's parents. We can help one another. In the Sai educational institutions we must foster well these three: discipline, devotion, duty. We must teach the children well the way to develop human values and friendship with God. We must not have fashionable dresses stitched for them as they please, in whatever way they ask.
