Two syllables in the water· Verses 5–8

5That first god, the highest teacher of the worlds, took his seat and looked out, wanting to send forth; and he did not find there the sight he could rely on, by which the making of this spread-out world would come about. 6As he was thinking, the mighty one heard once, in the water, a word of two syllables spoken twice: the sixteenth of the stopped sounds and the twenty-first, which, king, they know as the wealth of those who have nothing. 7Hearing it, he looked to the quarters, wanting to see who had spoken, and saw nothing else there. Taking his seat again and weighing what was good in it, he set his mind on austerity, as though he had been instructed.
8For a thousand years of the gods, with a sight that does not fail, his breath and his mind mastered, both kinds of sense conquered, gathered in himself, hottest of those who burn, he did the austerity that heats all the worlds.
