Devahuti said: Brahmin, nature never releases the Person, since the two rest upon one another and both are without beginning, lord. As there is no being of scent apart from earth, nor of taste apart from water, so it is with the understanding and with the supreme. This bondage of action belongs to the Person, who does not act, and it rests upon him; while nature's strands remain, how can there be aloneness among them? Even where that fierce fear has been made to cease by reflection upon the truth, since its cause has not ceased, it takes its stand again.
