20It was by attending on the lotus feet of him who takes on the strands to bring the world into being that the Unborn took the highest station, a station honoured by those who have mastered self and breath. 21So too your grandfather, the revered Manu, worshipped him with an undivided mind in rites of many gifts, and won what cannot be got any other way: happiness on earth, and in heaven, and then release. 22Take shelter in him alone, child; he is tender to his servants, and those who want release hunt for the track of his lotus feet. Set the Person in a mind that turns nowhere else, steeped in your own duty, and serve him.
23I can find no one but him, whose eyes are lotus petals, to cut your sorrow off. He is the one Sri seeks, dear one, lotus in hand, though everyone else goes seeking her. 24Having heard his mother speak so, and what her words came to, he held himself in by his own will and walked out of his father's city.
