21Among beings, higher than the plants are those that creep; among these, those that have some awareness; above them men; above them the pramathas; and above them the gandharvas and the siddhas, who follow the gods. 22Above the antigods are the gods who have Indra at their head; above them Daksa and the other sons of Brahma; above them Bhava, begotten of Virinci's power; and Virinci holds me highest, and I am the god of the twice-born gods. 23I weigh no other being equal to the brahmins. Brahmins, what could be higher? What men offer into them with trust I eat to the full, and not so what is offered in the fire. 24By them my ancient and lovely body is held here, in which is clarity at its highest, the thing that makes clean, and in which are quiet, restraint, truth, kindness, austerity, endurance and knowing at first hand.
25Those who have nothing and hold to devotion to me want nothing even from me, who am without end, higher than the highest, lord of heaven and release alike. What then would they want from anything else? 26My sons, all beings, moving and fixed, are to be honoured by you at every step as my seat, and with a sight that keeps them clear. That is worship of me. 27That is worship of me made plain, in mind, in speech, in sight and in the working of the senses; without it no man can free himself from the great delusion and the ropes of the one who makes an end.
