In this way that lord of earth, by the yoga of devotion joined to austerity, pleasing Hari by his own duty, slowly let every attachment go. In houses, in wives, in sons, in kinsmen, in the finest elephants and chariots and horses and goods, in unwearing jewels and ornaments and weapons and the rest, in treasuries without end, he set the thought that they are what is not. To him Hari gave the disc that carries fear to those who stand against him, being pleased with his undivided devotion; and it is the full guard of those devoted to him.
