Sagara was a turner of the wheel of rule, and it was by his sons that the ocean was dug. The Talajanghas, the Yavanas, the Sakas, the Haihayas and the Barbaras he did not kill, on his teacher's word; instead he made them go about with their looks altered, some shaven, some wearing beards, some with their hair loose and half of their heads shaved, some without an inner garment and others without an outer one. He worshipped with horse sacrifices him whose self is all the Vedas and all the gods, Hari, the Self, the Lord, by the yoga that Aurva had taught him. At that sacrifice Purandara carried off the horse that had been let loose as the animal.
