He saw her at Kuruksetra, at the Sarasvati, with five of her companions; and Pururavas, his face lighting up, spoke these well-made words. Wife, stay, stay, cruel one; you should not leave me. Even now you and I have not made an end of it. Let us have words together. This good body of mine will fall down here, goddess, carried far off by you. Wolves and vultures will eat it, and it will be no place for your kindness. Urvasi said: Do not die. You are a man. Do not let these wolves eat you. There is no friendship anywhere with women; their hearts are like the hearts of wolves. Women are without pity, cruel, hard to put up with, in love with rash acts. For the smallest thing they will kill a husband who trusts them, or a brother.

They make a false show of trust before those who do not know them, and drop all affection; wanting one new thing after another, they run after men and do as they please.
