Krtavirya's son Arjuna became lord of the seven islands. From Dattatreya, a portion of Hari, he got the great powers that yoga brings. Surely no king will go the way Kartavirya went, not by sacrifice, by giving, by austerity or by yoga, nor by learning, force, pity or the rest. For eighty-five thousand years his strength was never checked; he lost neither his wealth nor his memory, and he enjoyed the six goods that do not run out. Of his thousands of sons only five were left over from the fighting: Jayadhvaja, Surasena, Vrsabha, Madhu and Urjita. From Jayadhvaja came Talajangha, and he had a hundred sons. That kshatriya stock called the Talajanghas was drawn back into the heat of Aurva.

The eldest of them was Vitihotra. Vrsni is remembered as Madhu's son, and he had a hundred sons, and from him comes the family that has Vrsni at its head.
